Entries: 31/2045
After an early position open, Per Joakim Backstrom went all-in for his last 1,345,000 (13.5 big blinds), and Rui Soares re-jammed with his massive stack. The original raiser folded, setting up a showdown:
- Per Joakim Backstrom: 10♠10♣
- Rui Soares: A♥Q♠
The flop delivered a 10♥4♥9♠, with a ten right in the window, putting Backstrom in excellent shape. But the tension rose on the K♥ turn, giving Soares a hefty 13 outs. Fortunately for Backstrom, the river was a total blank with the 2♣, allowing him to secure a crucial double-up!
Per Joakim Backstrom – 3,100,000

Peluso Scoops A MASSIVE ONE
Level 29: 40,000/80,000 (80,000)
Entries: 34/2045
Fabio Peluso (pictured below) opened the action from under the gun, and Zigmas Pekarskas decided to defend his big blind. The flop brought 3♣2♦8♥, and after a check from Pekarskas, Peluso fired a bet of 250,000. Pekarskas made the call, keeping things interesting.
The turn came 8♥, and once again, Peluso bet after a check, this time for 750,000. Pekarskas still wasn’t ready to back down and made the call.
With a river of 4♥, Pekarskas checked for the third time. Peluso asked for a count and, upon learning Pekarskas had around 1.4 million left, bet 1 million. Pekarskas thought for about 30 seconds before tossing in a single chip to call. Peluso quickly revealed Qc Qs for pocket queens, and Pekarskas mucked his hand, giving Peluso a pot worth over four million chips.
Fabio Peluso – 6,000,000
Zigmas Pekarskas – 400,000
Not Everyone Loves A Chop Pot

Entries: 36/2045
Stavros Petychakis moved all-in with his remaining 425,000 chips and got a call from fellow Greek, Nikolaos Angelou Konstas, on the button.

- Nikolaos Angelou Konstas: A♠8♦
Petychakis was in great shape to double up to 12 big blinds. The flop brought K♠Q♣5♦, keeping him ahead. The turn 5♣ paired the board but didn’t change the outcome. However, the Q♥ on the river meant they split the pot, each taking a share of the blinds.
Petychakis busted shortly after this hand in 36th place.

Nikolaos Angelou Konstas – 4,500,000
