Second Break

Players are on their second break. Blinds will increase to 1,000/1,500 with a 1,500 big blind ante when the action resumes in 15 minutes.

The battle will continue for four more levels before a 60-minute dinner break takes place. We will update the full chip counts from around the room during the dinner break.

€120 APAT Maltese Championship Begins

The €120 APAT Maltese Championship is one of the bigger bargains around with nearly 200 entries in the field to kick things off. This is a two-day affair that will play down to the money with players starting with a massive stack of 100,000 in chips and blind increasing every 25 minutes throughout the event.

Dieter Aebi, Philip McCall, Craig Rose, Craig Smith, Kat Arnsby, Yves Farges, Manfred Quint, Ruben Rahumagi, Dan Larsson, Mark Adams, Daniel Rigby, and Anton Schroeter were among the players in their seats to start the action.

O’Kearney and Lappin Chip Raced Off the Table

We took a little bit of liberty with this title, but we noticed The Chip Race cohosts David Lappin and Dara O’Kearney side by side on Table 4 of the €2,500 Super High Roller with 17 players remaining.

This isn’t exactly the same as a chip race or really anything close to it but as soon as we went to wish both players the best of luck, the table was broken as the field is down to 16 players.

We just mentioned that O’Kearney will be signing his strategy books tomorrow at 3 p.m., while Lappin will continue his battle each day during his favorite festival of the year in Malta.

O’Kearney and O’Brien Autographing Books Sunday at 3 PM

Tomorrow will be a special treat for poker players and fans alike as not one, but two popular poker authors are in the house and signing books on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. in the Grand Event Tournament Arena in Unibet Ambassador and The Chip Race podcast cohost Dara O’Kearney and teacher and poker guru Alex O’Brien.

O’Kearney has authored many strategy books including “Poker Satellite Strategy” in coordination with his partner in crime in Barry Carter. Meanwhile, O’Brien is well known for her poker prowess, and for women’s poker advocacy will be signing her “The Truth Detective” book.

This author will be one in attendance have respecting both players for many years. Enjoy the moment while you have it as you won’t often get one book signing let alone two book signings by such an esteemed duo.
