Easy Chips For Burguiere
Level 10: 1000/2000 (2000)
Entries: 75/158
At the end of Level 10 Fredrik Andersson got himself in the action once again as he opened the pot to 4,000. Everyone folded to Matthieu Burguiere who 3-bet him from the small blind to 16,000 – the Swede called.
The flop came 10♦2♣7♦ and the French made a continuation bet of 10,000 which Andersson raised to 25,000. Burguiere didn’t think twice before putting all of his betting disks in the middle followed by a swift fold from Fredrik.
Just like this Matthieu Burguiere managed to win almost a starting stack without showing a single card.
Matthieu Burguiere: 220,000
Fredrik Andersson: 60,000
Fisher Flops the Goods, Sends Bellinghieri Packing!
Level 10: 1000/2000 (2000)
Entries: 82/158
Gary Fisher (pictured below) raised to 6,000 from early position and got a call from Fredrik Andersson. Sitting in the big blind, Giuseppe Bellinghieri shoved his remaining 55,000 chips, prompting Fisher to reshove. The two went to showdown:
- Gary Fisher: 10♠10♦
- Giuseppe Bellinghieri: A♠K♥
What initially looked like a coin flip quickly turned in Fisher’s favor when the flop came [invalid notations], giving him top set. Bellinghieri, left with slim outs, found no help on the turn or river and was eliminated from the hand.
Gary Fisher: 170,000
Giuseppe Bellinghieri: 0
Svitlana Derevlianko Gets Her Aces Cracked
Level 9: 1000/1500 (1500)
Entries: 86/156
Stefano Boi raised from UTG and was met with a 3-bet from Svitlana Derevlianko. The flop came J♠3♦10♣, where Derevlianko made a bet of 8,000 after her opponent checked, and Boi made the call. The turn brought the 8♠, completing possible straights, but Derevlianko remained unfazed, firing 25,000 into the pot.
After some thought, Boi put Derevlianko all-in for her remaining 76,500 chips. “I can’t fold this,” she said, calling and revealing A♣A♠, only to find herself up against Boi’s pocket 10♦10♠ for a set. The river changed nothing, sealing Derevlianko’s fate and sending her to the rail or possibly to the cashier.
Stefano Boi extends his chip lead and has over 400,000 chips.
