Pecelj Leaves Roberts on Fumes

Level 11: 3,000/5,000 (5,000)
Entries: 64/291

Ivan Furniet Martinez opened for 10,000 from middle position and was called by Lisa Roberts from the hijack and John Forsman from the button before Pavle Pecelj three-bet jammed for about 90,000. Martinez quickly folded before Roberts four-bet jammed for a little bit more. Forsman folded and later said I would have called you with sixes if it was heads-up action.

Pavle Pecelj: AQ
Lisa Roberts: 88

Pecelj won the flip with two pair after connecting with both his ace and his queen on the Q45A2 board to double his stack and leave Roberts on fumes.

Pavle Pecelj – 200,000
Lisa Roberts – Few chips and a chair

Meisser Bricks Flush Draw

Level 11: 3,000/5,000 (5,000)
Entries: 74/291

There was about 100,000 in the pot when John Forsman checked the KA4 flop. Marco Meisser fired out for 40,000. Lisa Roberts called before Forsman jammed more than enough to cover both his opponents. Meisser called for about 20 big blinds more and Roberts opted to fold.

Marco Meisser: 109
John Forsman: A5

Roberts was frustrated as soon as the cards were turned over and shared after the hand that she folded the best hand in A10. Meanwhile, it was Forsman who won the pot to eliminate Meisser after the 2 turn and 9 river completed the board.

John Forsman – 475,000
Lisa Roberts – 120,000
Marco Meisser – 0

Super High Roller Satellite is Out of This World

The final event of the day recently kicked off in the €300 satellite to the €2,500 Super High Roller taking place tomorrow.

Thus far, the satellite has been met with a bit of enthusiasm with 53 runners during the opening moments of Level 1. Klaus Bauer, Simon Davidson, Andrew Fleming, Bartilomeij Grabowski, David Harris, Kevin Houghton, Richard Koppel, David Lappin, Kevin Quinlan, Tom Runnacles, and Grand Event Day 1a chip leader Indre Stanaityte are among those hoping to punch a cheaper ticket into the highest buy-in event of the 2024 Malta Poker Festival Spring Edition.

44 Players (Or Less) Advance to Day 2 Via Day 1b

Level 11: 3,000/5,000 (5,000)
Entries: 91/291

Players are back from the dinner break and the final Day 1b field has been closed with 291 entries to bring the total up to 468 entries when taking into account the 177 entries during yesterday’s Day 1a. There are still four flights remaining over the course of the next three days, meaning the €300,000 guarantee slapped on the 2024 Malta Poker Festival Spring Edition €550 Grand Event will be smashed tomorrow.

Day 1b is scheduled to conclude when just 44 players (15 percent of 291 entries) remain from the 91 to take their seats after the dinner break. It is possible this figure will be lower if multiple players hit the rail on the end-of-the-day bubble. If it is exactly 44 entries, this will bring the total survivors into Day 2 up to 71 entries when factoring in the 27 Day 1a survivors.

Those finding a bag tonight will walk into Day 2 with already a €900 min-cash locked up that they can collect at the payout desk at the end of the night.

Best of luck to all of the Day 1b players in advancing to Day 2 and beyond at the 2024 Malta Poker Festival Spring Edition.
