Pulejkov Delivers Huge Bad Beat to Talvard
Level 14: 5,000/10,000 (10,000)
Entries: 48/291
Damjan Pulejkov checked the A♣K♥6♠10♠ board after the turn before Antoine Talvard fired out for 40,000 into a pot of around 100,000. Pulejkov jammed for about 150,000 and Talvard went briefly into the tank before he found a call.
Damjan Pulejkov: A♠3♠
Antoine Talvard: A♥10♥
Talvard was far ahead with his two pair and just needed to fade a spade or a king for a chop to win a huge pot while also eliminating Pulejkov.
“So sick,” Talvard said in a loud whisper after the J♠ spiked the river to improve Pulejkov to a flush.
Damjan Pulejkov – 400,000
Antoine Talvard – 110,000

Joseph Hamilton jammed for 18,000 from under the gun. Jordan Dumas asked for a quick count before he called before Ian Tambone also found a call from the small blind.
Tambone and Dumas checked down the entire Q♦J♥6♠2♥K♠ board.
Hamilton turned over the A♦Q♥ and won the hand to more than triple his stack with Tambone turning over the 7♥6♥ and Dumas tabling the A♠7♣.
Jordan Dumas – 570,000
Ian Tambone – 235,000
Joseph Hamilton – 70,000

Entries: 53/291
Andrew Cutajar opened for 20,000 from the button before Cory Desmond three-bet jammed for 128,000.
“I call, I can’t fold,” Cutajar said after pausing for close to a minute.
Cory Desmond: J♦8♦
Andrew Cutajar: A♦10♣
Desmond needed some help but had two live cards to do so. It was the jack that got the job done after it found a friend on the 5♠5♣3♥J♣7♦ runout for Desmond to double through Cutajar near the end of Day 1b.
Andrew Cutajar – 410,000
Cory Desmond – 270,000
Dursley Wins Flip Against Kai to Stay Alive
Level 12: 3,000/6,000 (6,000)
Entries: 56/291
Table 3 has some local flavor to it with Maltese citizens Mark Attard, Andrew Cutajar, and Joseph Grech all battle it out alongside Maltese residents Cory Desmond and Antoine Talvard.
However, it was two other players locking horns in Jake Dursley and Vater Kai. Dursley open-jammed for about a dozen big blinds from middle position and was called by Vater Kai from one seat over.
Jake Dursley: A♦8♦
Vater Kai: 5♣5♥
It wasn’t looking good on the J♥Q♣3♠ flop for Dursley and matters became worse after failing to connect with the K♥ turn. Dursley let out a sigh of relief after the 8♠ river pushed him ahead with a better pair to survive and double his short stack.
Vater Kai – 450,000
Jake Dursley – 155,000
