This season’s festival promises an impressive lineup of events, featuring deep structures across various games and buy-ins, around-the-clock cash games, along with plenty of off-the-felt activities like a scenic Catamaran ride, a Hop-On/Hop-Off Bus tour, and the Player’s Party — offering everyone a chance to experience Malta’s unique charm.
Our coverage kicks off on Wednesday, October 30th, at 14:00, with Day 1C of the €500,000 guaranteed Malta Poker Festival €550 Grand Event!
The MPF Grand Event offers a true deep-stack experience across the first six starting flights, giving players ample starting chips and plenty of opportunities to showcase their skills. For those seeking a faster pace, we also have two turbo flights with shorter blind levels, adding extra excitement to the mix.
The Special Price Day 1A was a record-breaker with a packed house – every table and dealer at the Portomaso Casino was in action. We welcomed an incredible 278 players, making it our largest Day 1A turnout to date. By the night’s end, 42 players had secured a bag, with a minimum payout of €1,000 awarded to those who advanced. Day 1B kicks off today (Tuesday) at 5 p.m., as we prepare to welcome a new wave of players to the tables.
The next five opening flights will feature 40-minute blind levels, with the later flights, Day 1G and Day 1H, adopting a turbo structure with 20-minute blinds.
Players can re-enter up to twice per flight during the initial 10 levels, giving ample opportunity to build a substantial stack. Each opening flight will conclude when the field narrows to the top 15 percent, with all remaining players securing a cash position as they head into Day 2 on Sunday.
Stay tuned to our blog throughout the week for updates, photos, and stories from the Grand Event, side event winners, and much more excitement from the festival floor.
The floor announced that players will play three more hands before bagging and tagging their chips for the end of the day. Unfortunately, Ann-Roos Callens won’t be coming back for the final day as she hit the rail in 51st place for €1,790 after losing her short stack.
Stay tuned for all of the second-day payouts, the final Day 2 chip counts, and the final day seat draw before we call it a night ourselves.
Ann-Roos Callens is last lady standing in Grand Event
